As we celebrate our firm’s 20th anniversary in 2022, we celebrate each of our team members. These monthly profiles are a way to learn about each of our financially-savvy forensic sharpshooters outside the office.

 

Ewelina and her parents emigrated from Communist Poland to Portland more than 35 years ago. They said farewell to their family and stepped into the unknown in hopes of a brighter future. Ewelina learned English and started 2nd grade in a whole new world. She discovered her creative side as a kid and in her high school marketing class, which sparked her interest in pursuing a bachelor’s in business at the University of Southern California (USC).

Her career started in recruiting and marketing at an international law firm in Los Angeles. She met her partner Paul while working together on the marketing team at another law firm. They started dating a few years later and moved from California to the New York City area where they lived through a couple of harsh winters (and a hurricane!) before relocating to Portland eight years ago to be closer to family. They love living in the Pacific Northwest and having access to all the natural wonders it has to offer. Last December, they adopted their sweet kitten Piper and are experiencing all the joys of pet parenting.

For more than 20 years, Ewelina has worked with professional services firms on marketing, communications and business development initiatives in some of the most dynamic markets in the country. Her roles have centered around creating meaningful connections with clients and the community. After working in-house with one of the largest Pacific Northwest regional law firms, she launched her own marketing consulting practice, Ptown Communications, almost five years ago. Ewelina has partnered with our team since 2019 to elevate our brand.

First jobs: Worked at her high school coffee cart and store (at Westview, go Wildcats!) to earn credits for travel to DECA competitions with her marketing class. Also was a cashier at Nordstrom’s, working summers and holidays through high school and college. While at USC, she was an administrative assistant at the School of Social Work and did an internship in human resources/recruiting at an asset management firm.

Hobbies: Getting out in nature for hikes and walks to unplug and appreciate the beauty around us. She loves exploring and traveling to faraway places but also checking out local farmer’s markets, food and flower festivals, and u-pick farms. Ewelina has also always enjoyed playing and watching tennis since she was a kid and has been following the world’s current #1 women’s player from Poland, Iga Swiatek.

Passions: Creating memorable experiences for others, whether that’s through hosting, food, crafty gifts or creative gestures. She also enjoys making an impact by supporting local entrepreneurs and businesses. As an entrepreneur herself, Ewelina served on the Board of the Women’s Business Center at Mercy Corps NW. She continues to volunteer and mentor, helping businesses level up their marketing.
